Immersive Birdwatching is a speculative design project aimed at raising questions about wearable technology. The dysfunctional interface seeks to ask questions about technology that supposedly enhances our experiences with the natural environment.
The headpiece utilizes two shotgun microphones interfaced with a handheld audio recorder. The microphones are placed at ear distance apart to create three-dimensional stereo audio recordings. Binoculars are attached to a beer-drinking helmet, allowing hands-free magnification. Hot-glued leaves conceal you when you need it most.
